Simple one-piece design made from a rectangular piece of 10 mil mylar like material, rounded at the bottom and a shoelace.

Material holds shape well. The curving folds form a ridged brim and curved front. The side shields provide extra protection.

The complete shield is very light weight, 25 grams. Its low mass enables quick movements. You can look up, down and side to side with complete range of motion and minimum interference.

No seams or overlapping pieces to trap contaminates

The prototypes were handmade using a printed template, utility knife, scratch awl and a straight edge in about 20 minutes.

Materials are very inexpensive, as cheap as $0.50 each

Laser cutting and scoring will greatly increase speed and accuracy of assembly.
